During a special New Year’s Eve performance at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., The Strokes announced that they’ve been working on a new album that should be ready in 2020.

After asking if the crowd wanted to hear a new song, frontman Julian Casablancas broke the news.

“Yeah, we have a new album coming out soon,” he revealed. “Surprise. 2020, here we come. We took the 2010’s – whatever the [explitive] they’re called – we took ’em off, but now, we’ve been unfrozen and we’re back.”

This will be The Strokes’ first full-length album since Comedown Machine in 2013.

The New Year’s Eve show also featured Mac Demarco and Hinds.
